SEO does not need to be complicated. Use this simple checklist to get the basics right.

1) Make sure Google can crawl your site

• Your pages should not be blocked in robots.txt.
• You should have a sitemap at /sitemap.xml.
• Every important page should be linked from another page.

2) Write clear page titles and descriptions

• The page title should say what the page is about.
• The description should be one clear sentence.

3) Use clean headings

• Use one H1 on the page.
• Break sections with H2 and H3 headings.

4) Make pages load fast

• Compress images.
• Avoid huge scripts.
• Test on mobile.
